Erin Newkirk is one of those cool girls who invents things. Her app, Red Stamp, is the darling of the app world with its cutesy valentine’s and endless freebies.
And it’s really no wonder. Newkirk’s background in design translated perfectly into the application. Users on the App Store share charming stories about using the app to send out birth announcements from the hospital and sharing a sweet moment with a loved one in a far off place. Newkirk seems to perfectly understand what helps people connect and how to make it beautiful… especially when it comes to how we use our phones.
Just last year Red Stamp was still a paper and envelope business shipping hard copy stationary. Amazing what can happen in a year.
Red Stamp’s blog, Stylish Correspondence, gives a fun look at how users have used the digital cards and printed them for hands on occassions. Newkirk’s Pinterest is like a well-curated visit into your favorite shop. It’s fun, bright and well-designed.
Plus, I’ve got to give Newkirk a holler for also being a Minnesota girl. Holla.
