Blame Katniss.
Blame Hawkeye.
Blame Merida.
Not so much the bows as the arrows.
Really, arrows are having a moment.
I mean, LOOK at that tall, handsome piece of rusted metal. I really want to take that home. And mount it.
Want to integrate this fabulous trend into your home? Here are a few geek-friendly products I’m obsessing over and a DIY for the budget-focused among us. (Reality check: in this economy, I think we’re all pretty budget conscious.)
That tall drink of water up top is a vintage marquee arrow. It’s 36 inches long and will run you $199 plus $20 to deliver it within the United States. Shipping starts at $95 when you get out of the States. Check it out from Vintage Marquee Lights.
Archival prints would be a super easy and cheap way to bring arrows into your home.
A simple search on Etsy will bring up more options than you can possibly imagine, but seller River Luna’s prints stole my heart. The color. The detail. The juxtaposition. Is it weird to say YUM? Probably. But oh well, that’s my natural reaction to this amazing design.
A 5x7 print of the art at left will cost you $10 and a couple bucks to ship. Totally affordable. While you’re there, check out the painted rocks. I can’t believe I’m saying this: I want to spend money on a rock.
For those of you up for a DIY project, you could make some physical arrows and put them in a large vase. That would be super cute. See this DIY for some basic directions. Not quite as fancy as these designs on Etsy (ridiculously gorgeous!), but you’ll save yourself roughly $50, so you can either make about 70 more arrows or take your friends out for a round of drinks. Up to you.
